How do I deal with criticism?

When somebody criticizes us or says something against us, it simply means we are important in their lives, otherwise they wouldn’t care. They have taken the time to judge us, formulate a condemnation or criticism, and give it to us. So when somebody insults us, we should thank them: thank them for the time and effort they have put in to better our lives.

How important must we be in the other person’s eyes for them to have taken the time and trouble to evaluate us and offer their criticism. So rather than be hurt by insults, we should be thankful that we have been shown or exposed to the other person’s opinion of us. Quite often, this awareness may help us to change our perspective of ourselves.
