Why are some things a struggle, and some not?

It is simply a matter of being able to or not being able to express yourself. When you want to express and you are unable to, that is the time you struggle. And when you can express so naturally that you don’t even realize it, then there is no struggle.

For example, there is a person who says they are poor with words and they can’t speak if you tell them to talk. You ask them how they are feeling and they tell you they can’t say because they don’t know how to express. But hit them with a stick and see how quickly they start expressing themselves. Similarly, take a lady who says ‘I have a bad back and I can’t carry my shopping bag; I need help.’ If a big rock falls on the same lady’s child, she will move that rock without blinking an eyelid. We all have it within us; we simply need the key.

We tend to live in this fallacy that we can’t do a certain thing; that we are limited. Yet, should the occasion arise, we will do that thing just fine.  It simply needs the right trigger. We all have this huge potential which we don’t explore because we want to live on the surface and be content in our comfort zone.

If somebody says ‘I don’t know how to cook’, just leave them in a room for 10 days without food. Keep some uncooked grain and water there. They will learn how to boil their grain very quickly and eat it. Soon enough, they will become master chef. The potential is so enormous but we don’t explore it to its full capacity. If we do, nothing will be a struggle any longer.
